Paul was walking through the forest when he suddenly saw a big strange golden box.
Paul wanted to open the box but it was locked.
The box was glowing and Paul thought it looked like a magic box.
Suddenly, a piece of paper fell from the sky.

    Paul picked the paper up.
It was very old with cursive handwriting that said:
“Inside the magic box is lots of money. The one who can open it will be very rich.”
On the other side of the paper was a map. It showed a red 'X' by a waterfall.

Paul was very excited. He thought about all the things he could buy with all that money...Lots of beautiful clothes, delicious food and a big house.
He thought the 'X' must be where the key for the box was, so he followed the map.

Paul walked for many hours carrying the heavy box and was very tired when finally he saw the waterfall. It was beautiful. The water was so blue. He walked under the waterfall like the map said and he found a dark cave but he could not see the box's key.

He felt scared but he really wanted the money so he went into the dark cave.
Suddenly, the cave turned into a new magical world. Paul felt amazed. In front of him he saw a huge Sakura Tree and he went up to it.
    Suddenly, a fairy appeared.

“I see you have found my magic box,” said the fairy.
“Do you have the key?” asked Paul, “I really want the money inside it to buy myself beautiful clothes, a big house and delicious food.”
“I’m sorry, YOU, will never be able to open the box.” the fairy said.

“What do you mean?” Paul asked angrily.
The fairy explained, “The magic will only let the box be opened by those who are not selfish. You only want to spend the money on yourself. I think you are very selfish.”

Paul thought for a moment and with a smile he said, “Did I say buy for myself? hahaha... I made a mistake. I meant to say I want to buy them for for the poor people.” he lied.

Paul really was selfish but he thought he could trick the fairy.

“Oh! In that case here is the key. It can be used to open the box once you get back to your own world.”
Paul felt clever because he had tricked the fairy.
The fairy waved her magic wand and was gone, so Paul started to walk towards the cave.

Suddenly, a huge river appeared in front of Paul. He could not cross it. Paul could not swim so he was stuck in the magic world.
Luckily, a kind man in a small boat saw him, “Are you ok?”
“No, I can’t swim. Can you take me across the river?”

The man said, “My boat is small but if I throw out these things I’ve bought then you can fit in.”
“But aren’t they your new things?” Paul asked.
“Yes, but I can’t be selfish. I should help you.”
Paul got into the boat and they crossed the river.

Paul went through the cave and under the waterfall into his own world. He immediately put the key in the box.
Paul was so thankful the kind man had helped him that he was no longer selfish.
The box opened. It had more money inside than he’d ever seen before.

Paul took all the money and donated it to the "Kids4Kids" charity because he knew many poor children needed the money much more than him and he had learnt on his adventure not to be greedy and selfish.
