One day Anthony was surfing the internet about different islands in Hong Kong. He came across an island which was named ‘Mysterious Island’. No one had ever set foot on this island and therefore people knew nothing about this place. “I want to explore this Island”, announced Anthony.

He talked to some of his classmates about this ‘Mysterious Island’ and his idea of exploring it. They showed a lot of interest and decided to go to this unknown place to discover what was there.

However, they faced a couple of problems. First they did not know where the island was exactly located and second how to get there.

They thought for a while and soon came up with ideas to overcome these problems. “Maybe we should study Google Map carefully and that will help us find the exact location of this island,” suggested Andrew. Everyone nodded in agreement.

After carefully studying the map, the location of the island was determined. “All right, now let’s discuss how to get there,” proposed Anthony. “We can take ferry from Star Ferry Pier,” recommended Julia. “That’s a stupid suggestion. There is no ferry service to Mysterious Island,” shouted Billy.

“Guys, we need to listen to each other respectfully. Every suggestion, every opinion matters. It’s a teamwork. We need to cooperate in order to successfully carry out this exploration mission,” reminded Anthony. “Yes, Julia, any more suggestions?”

“Perhaps we built a bamboo raft to help us reach the island,” suggested Julia. “That’s an excellent suggestion,” said Billy excitedly.

They bought bamboo poles and started watching videos on YouTube about how to build a bamboo raft. The young inquisitive minds picked up the necessary skills straightaway and started working on their raft.

A week later, everyone was at the seashore ready to sail. “We must get some lifejackets in case we need them in emergency,” warned Julia. Anthony and Andrew went to the nearest market and bought a few lifejackets.

The children worked in unison and navigated their way to Mysterious Island. Every person was assigned a duty to collect information about animals, plants, rocks and other interesting features of the island. After a long day of tiring work, the children paddled back with a lot of useful information.

A few days later, their G.S. teacher invited them to share the information with the rest of their schoolmates. Word spread around and these inquisitive children were invited to share their discoveries on TV.

They proudly presented the information they had gathered. Towards the end of the program, they were asked to share how they could make this seemingly impossible task possible. ‘Respectful communication and teamwork!’ they all replied excitedly.
