One day the dragons went to see the witches. Cackle, the Queen Witch had summoned them to a meeting because she wanted to steal the fairy queen’s throne. The dragons agreed to help.

Blossom, the Fairy Queen was playing on her magic piano while her fairies were preparing dinner.

She had no idea the witches were planning to steal the throne. It was a beautiful day and the fairies were enjoying themselves. They were unaware of the danger that was coming.

The dragons swooped out of the clear sky. All of the fairies, except for Blossom ran away screaming.

Blossom looked up in shock, the dragons were not good friends but they had never attacked them. Even Blossom had to run away for safety. The dragons then called the witches who were able to take the throne while the fairies stayed hiding.

The witches stole the throne. The fairies were confused, because the dragons had never harmed them before and they wondered if the witches had placed a spell over them. The question now was: how were they going to get their throne back?

Blossom thought. Finally an idea came to her.

The first thing Blossom had to do was send a messenger to the witches. She decided to send a fairy called Galatea. Galatea was a clever little fairy who could think quickly. Blossom explained her plan. Galatea smiled, she knew what the fairy queen was thinking.

At the witches hall, Cackle and her witches were arguing about who was going to sit in the throne.

“I am the queen, I should sit on the throne,” said Cackle.

“But we helped you steal it so we should also be allowed to sit on the throne,” said another.

The argument continued. None of the witches noticed Galatea fly in and sit on the window sill.

“Ahem, pardon me, I need to speak to you.” she said.

Cackle and the other witches stopped arguing and looked at her. Galatea said, “I’m here to give you a very important message.”

Before the witches could eat her, Galatea told them that Blossom was willing to give them a gift if they were willing to return her throne.

“Keep talking. What are you going to offer us?”

“Blossom told me to offer you two magic watches.”

“I’ve always wanted a magic watch,” thought Cackle. “I suppose you want your throne back,” she said.

    “Yes,” Galatea said.

The witches were arguing again. If there were only two magic watches they knew that Cackle was going to have one but who would wear the other?

“What do these magic watches do?” asked Cackle.

Galatea didn’t really know, but she couldn’t tell that to Cackle.

“They can stop time.” Galatea didn’t really know if this was true but from the look on Cackle’s face she knew that the old witch was interested.

Cackle agreed to return the throne in exchange for the watches. A time was set for the trade and Galatea flew away.

The next day the exchange took place. The witches were so greedy to get the magic watches that they didn’t realize the fairies were going to trick them.

The witches handed over the throne while Blossom and Galatea stood before them holding the magic watches. Cackle was so anxious to get the watches that she didn’t notice the dragons carrying away the throne.

Blossom handed the watches to Cackle. “How do I use it?” she demanded.

Blossom and Galatea made ready to escape.

“You have to solve a riddle,” said Blossom.

As Galatea readied the magic bomb.Blossom said, “Listen very carefully...”

“If two witches wore two watches, which witch wore which watch?”

Cackle looked at her in shock!

She realized she had been cheated and just at the moment Galatea threw the magic bomb. There was a flash of brilliant light and clouds of purple smoke. When the smoke cleared the two fairies were back at secret forest where no witches could ever harm them again.
