It was 8pm but Angela, Angel and Matthew were still playing in the park. As they were having such fun, they did not want to go home even though their parents told them to return at 8pm.
They were all rich children and always had the best phones and clothes.

“Look…Everyone else has gone home. We have the whole park to ourselves,” said Angela excitedly.

The trouble with being rich is that they were naive. They didn’t know that the other children went home when their parents had told them to because at night the park can be dangerous.

“I feel hungry,” Angel said. “Let’s find a shop to buy food,” Matthew replied.
“No need for that. I have some food. Come and eat it with me,” a man’s voice suddenly said.
The children turned round and saw a man with fries and coke standing next to them.

The children said, “Thank you,” and ate the snacks.
The man had tattoos and smoked cigarettes but he gave them more food so the children were happy.
Suddenly, it started raining heavily. “I can drive you home,” the man said.
The children were glad they had met this kind man.

“Turn left to get to my home,” said Matthew. But the man turned right. “What are you doing?” shouted Angela.
“I want to go home!” screamed Angel.
The children were scared. They tried to open the doors but they were locked. Then they saw the man had a gun.

Suddenly, the car stopped by an old building. The man got out and tied the children's hands and legs together with chains.
    “Let us go!” screamed Angel.
Matthew tried to fight the man but he was too strong.
He took them inside and the children couldn’t believe what they saw...

They saw hundreds of children chained together making toy ice-cream cones. They were all skinny, tired and hungry.
Matthew, Angel and Angela were put inside a cage. They tried to make the toy ice-creams too but it was hard and their hands hurt.
The man just shouted, “Work faster!”

After 2 hours the children were exhausted.
“I’m going to the toilet,” the man said, “Keep working hard when I am gone or I will kill you!” He pointed the gun at the children.
When the man left, Angel whispered, “We have to try and escape.”

“How?” asked Matthew, "We are chained up and locked in this cage."
“I have an idea,” Angela said excitedly.
She then pulled out a hair clip from her hair. I can use this to open the locks.
    “Great plan!” Angel said,
“But be quick, the man will come back soon.”

Angela used the clip on the cage's lock but it wouldn’t open.
    “It’s stuck!” she said.
    Suddenly, the children heard footsteps.
    “Hurry!” Matthew urged.
Finally, “CLICK” Angela opened the cage and then her chains.
She jumped up and used the clip to open Angel’s and Matthew's chains too.

The children ran to the door but the footsteps were getting louder.
    “Stop!!!” screamed the man.
He started to run after them. The children ran onto the road and luckily they saw a police car.
“Help us. The man kidnapped us.”
“What? Who?” said the confused policeman.

    “Him!”
The children pointed at the man.
    The policeman arrested the man.
Afterwards, the children went home in the police car and said sorry to their parents for not returning at 8pm. They replied, “We only have rules for your safety. You should never trust strangers.”
