“I am so excited about our school picnic tomorrow,” Miki told her mum excitedly.
“Yes, I hope you have lots of fun,” her mum replied.
Miki then played with her cat and her dog because she loved animals.
Then she slept early so she was ready for the big day.

It was a lovely sunny day and Miki and all the other children got on the bus to go to the park.
In the park, Miki could see beautiful flowers, tall trees and many things to play on such as slides and see-saws.

Miki was playing ball games happily with her friends when she saw some animals playing in the far corner of the park. Miki loved animals so she told her friends, “I’m going for a walk to look for animals.”
She walked away and soon could not even see her friends.

Suddenly, Miki heard a strange noise in the bushes. It sounded like animals fighting. She went in the bushes to take a closer look.
She saw a cat and a dog and they were fighting.
Miki loved animals so she asked them their names.

The cat and dog stopped fighting. The dog said, “I’m Snoopy.”
The cat said, “And I’m Martin.”
“Why are you fighting?” asked Miki.
Snoopy said, “We are very hungry but Martin ate all of our food and now we have none.”
“That’s not true! You ate our food!” shouted Martin.

Suddenly the animals were fighting again.
    “STOP FIGHTING!!!” yelled Miki,
“I have a biscuit. You can have it.”
Miki took out a biscuit and gave it to Martin. Suddenly, Snoopy tried to get the biscuit. The two animals were fighting yet again!

“STOP FIGHTING!!!” yelled Miki even louder than before.
“I have an idea. I will break the biscuit in half and you can both eat the biscuit.”
“Great idea!” the two animals said.
Miki broke the biscuit in two and Snoopy and Martin both enjoyed the yummy snack.

“I must go back to my classmates now,” said Miki. However, when she looked for her friends she could not see them.
    “Oh no!” she said frustratedly.
Suddenly, she heard the noise of an engine and she saw the school bus driving away from the park.

Miki was scared and she started to cry.
Luckily Martin and Snoopy heard her.
“What’s the matter Miki?” they asked.
“I missed the bus back to school. I don’t know what to do.”
Martin and Snoopy remembered how helpful and smart Miki had been, so they wanted to help her.

“Which school do you go to?” asked Martin.
“Carmel Leung Sing Tak,” Miki said.
“I know where that is,” said Snoopy. “It’s not far. Let me show you.”
“Oh thanks. I don’t know how to get there,” said Miki.
Martin, Snoopy and Miki then walked to her school.

At school, Miki’s mum was waiting.
Miki told her about her new friends. She asked if Snoopy and Martin could come to live with them.
“Sure. They are lovely,” said mum.
“We have many biscuits at home so you won’t have to half them now!” said Miki.
    They all laughed.
