Hello! I am a boy named Thomas, whose family was sooooo rich that we always go on vacations. They thought that vacations will lead me to a “rounded” education.
Unsure if my parents were still alive, I wandered around and felt cold and hungry.
I limped to the forest to gather wood to build a hut. “This isn’t so hard!” I thought. I went to the ocean to fetch water and some fish to eat. However, the fish were too slippery, so I used my clothes to catch fish. Finally, I had some food!
The next day, I opened my eyes…
…AND SAW MY…
I was so happy that I did a dance and my trousers fell off.
After listening to my story, they praised me for being a brave boy.
Now we’ve got food, drinks, shelter. It seems like a happy ending.
We forgot the plans to get back home!!!!! How could we forget them? I thought for a long time…and this was the result.
Easy, huh? Except that we’re on an island so we don’t have metal for wheels or lights.
We walked into the mountains. Then, we saw a cargo plane. PERFECT!!! But the pilot didn’t notice us.
After what seemed like 10 days , Mom couldn’t stand the sun much longer. “I’m leaving!” she shouted. “It’s too hot!” We decided to go back and make raft.
I just mentioned that we don’t have metal, right? However, we did have WOOD. This was the final plan.
Raft, ready. Hand-made motor for travelling, done. 3,2,1, push!
“Listen up! When I give a signal, start turning the handles and follow my speed” Dad said.
“Okay!” we replied.
We were in the middle of the sea when we saw fins. “SHARKS!!!!!!” I bellowed. Luckily, we had extra fish, so we threw them into the water.
Not much later, we saw a pier. We’re home! I thought. But after we climbed onto the ferry pier, I saw three words: WELCOME TO CHINA!
Oh! We’re in China! Not England. I took a second look at the billboard: WELCOME TO HONG KONG CHINA!!!
Luckily, we were in Hong Kong for the 20th anniversary of returning to China! We had a party before going back home.
Still humming the ‘Hong Kong, My Home!’ song, we headed to the airport. We borrowed some money to buy the tickets back to England.
I thought that we were leaving soon, but then, “Passengers boarding flight CX353 to London ought to know that the flight has been delayed due to an engine failure. If you have any enquiries, please contact the airline staff. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
We asked the staff immediately. They said that we needed to wait for another 9 hours.
As we had another 9 hours’ time, we tried some local dishes. They were very tasty.
At last, we were on board the plane. The plane took off and I looked outside.
Wow, it was so beautiful!
We were home. I didn’t the cold weather, but I was happy to be home in England. I’ll miss Hong Kong.
