Do you remember Jack? This time I am also introducing his younger brother, John. Jack was the leader with a quick mind and strong hands. John was quiet and always seemed to be the follower. The following is about an adventure undertaken by them - an exciting, interesting and mysterious

    adventure.

Their mission was to search an abandoned mansion to look for the King’s lost treasures. As soon as they entered they noticed something in the air from the sounds they heard and the rumble that they felt. Ghosts! The mansion was filled with ghosts! They were scared

    and quickly retreated.

“Ghosts! Is that all?” Jack asked, “Let us take the ‘Ghost-O-Vac’ and be done with it.”

    “Whatever you say.” replied John.

They returned the next day. They put on goggles and saw ghosts emerging from every corner and attacked

them. Jack switched on ‘Ghost-O-Vac’ and sucked them into a bottle. They could see the glowing creatures dashing around inside the bottle.

    “Cleared!” declared Jack.

With the ghost problem solved, they moved into the main hall. There was no ghost but a large web hanging from

the ceiling with a huge spider on it.

The young men were not prepared for this. Jack signaled retreat. Slowly, they back tracked and left the mansion.

    “What now?” asked John.

Jack had not run out of tricks. In the third visit, they brought laser guns. After clearing

ghosts as they did last time, they reached the hall of spiders. They used laser beams to blind the spiders’ eyesight and immobilised them.

But something puzzled them. John broke the silence, “This mansion has regenerative power like a living thing. That’s why after we had

removed the ghosts, more ghosts appeared this time. We need to stop that regeneration.”

“So what shall we do, brother?” Jack began to humble himself.

“What keeps a living thing alive?” hinted John.

They looked at each other and said together, “Energy!”

    They

surveyed the place and found a tree in the backyard that looked normal but the leaves were shiny and grey in colour like solar panels. Also, there was a hatch on the trunk.

“Bingo!” said John, “Let’s go back and prepare for a fourth visit."

Upon returning, they covered the tree to block all sunlight. John then opened the hatch and disconnected some wires.

When they entered the mansion the fourth time, no ghosts appeared and the spiders were as dead as doornails. They entered a room from the main hall and recovered the

lost treasure. The mission was accomplished.

Jack apologised to John, “I am sorry for the way I acted. Though you did not acted quickly, your sharp observation was the key to the success.” he concluded.

“Brother, we are in a team, right?” said John.
